Job description

I'm currently working with a forward thinking, ambitious and growing Architecture practice who work across a multitude of sectors ranging from heritage, residential, commercial and education. Due to their continued success and a strong pipeline of work they are looking to expand their design team with the addition of another Archtiectural Technologist.


Role Objective

As an Architectural Technologist, you will be professional, have an attention to detail, positive under pressure and outcome driven, with a 'can do' attitude that inspires respect from within the team and the wider FAD business. The key objectives include:

To create all necessary architectural information in support of the projects you work on.
To support/manage a programme of opportunities at the same time.
To liaise with others in the FAD team, including the management, for support and advice where necessary.

Main Duties

  • Produce all necessary architectural design information for the projects worked on - as part of a team or individually.
  • Liaison with the Technical Director for sign-off of architectural design information produced.
  • Creating and maintain project programmes, so that all internal / external deadlines are captured and communicated throughout the project development.
  • Coordinate the necessary management reviews during the design process.
  • End to end management of individual projects, where appropriate.
  • Liaising with the customer team and other FAD colleagues to agree information required and design/specification details.
  • Liaising with third parties/suppliers to ensure appropriate input into the design detailing.
  • Analysing projects documents to understand the client's requirements, timescales and specific instructions.
  • To set-up/maintain the file structure on the internal server/external SharePoint (or similar) sites, ensuring the documents are stored correctly and the latest version is always available.
  • To ensure that all documents produced are complete and fully responsive to the customers' requirements.
  • Ensuring compliant architectural design information is produced/issued meeting all client requirements.
  • Setting up and/or attending meetings where required (internal and external) supporting negotiations, presentations and client engagement.
  • Preparing case studies and other reference materials
  • Undertaking external research on the market or specific organisations to support individual projects or sectors.
