Assistant Accountant - Financial Services - City of London - up to £35,000

A leading financial services broker is currently hiring for an Assistant Accountant within their Financial Control function. A newly created role, this position will support a team of high-calibre qualified accountants in delivering a best in class financial control framework, with involvement in management and financial reporting

Working for a business that plays a key role in global financial markets, this business has a global network of offices providing services to clients in Europe, Asia and the US.

Assistant Accountant - Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial statements for a number of legal entities across the world
  • Prepare monthly review on income statements and balance sheets for several entities
  • Produce monthly management accounts and reports for board level.
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monthly transfer pricing calculations and reporting
  • Implement and maintain a robust controls framework
  • Assist with regulatory reporting
  • Ad hoc improvement of financial reporting and control processes

Key Skills and Traits:

this role would be well suited to someone who has 1-2 years of financial accounting / control / reporting / audit experience and is looking to progress in their career as an accountant. Specifically, experience in preparing financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS.

It would be useful to have previous experience within financial markets / banking, although not essential. Part-qualified ACCA / CIMA or having recently graduated in a financial degree (accounting and finance, maths, banking, economics etc)

You will be someone with a strong analytical mindset, able to solve problems and show good judgement when working in a highly regulated environment.
