Job description

Investigo are exclusively recruiting an Assistant Accountant (Project Accounting) for an established business based in Bedford.

In the position of Assistant Accountant (Project Accounting) Bedford you will report to the Financial Controller supporting all aspects of project costings and support month end close. Other key duties to include:

  • Create projects in the accounting system and project administration activities
  • Full responsibility for the financial management of projects
  • Review project performance with the Project Management team and where necessary, proactively challenge the accuracy of monthly financial results and forecasts
  • Monthly project review meetings - analysing, reporting, and presenting Project margin deviations to Management monthly
  • Completing monthly Revenue Recognition process within the accounting system for production of project financial information for inclusion in monthly management accounts
  • Conducting department's monthly hours recovery analysis
  • Cost roll ups - monthly analysis and reporting on the cost base movements on business products
  • Close out of projects in accounting system on project completion
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
  • Year end accounting and support, compiling information for external auditors
  • Ad-hoc tests/audits/reviews/projects on specific areas of concern or opportunity
  • Support the Financial Controller

The Profile

The successful candidate will need to be finalist level of AAT or early stages of CIMA/ ACCA

Ability to create and monitor internal projects on the accounting software

Strong communication skills as you business partner with project managers and key stake holders

Strong level of excel and ability to analyse key data and relay back to the business

Attention to detail and ability to work under own initiative

The Salary

£28,000 to £32,000 plus full study/ benefits package (Hybrid working conditions)
