Assistant Financial Controller

Assistant Financial Controller | 6 Month FTC | Retail Banking | Up to £70k

Investigo are partnered with an international retail bank looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join the team on an intial 6 month fixed term contract.

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for month end reporting, including but not limited to management accounts, ALCO reporting, Group reporting
• Responsible for Chart of Accounts and General Ledger
• Prepare VAT return and ensure amounts are received from / paid to HMRC
• Prepare corporation tax computation and corporation tax return
• Preparation of numbers for the statutory accounts
• When Head of Financial Control is away, review and authorise cost control requests, purchase quotes, purchase orders, purchase invoices, outgoing supplier payments, and manual accounting entries, in accordance with authorisation limits and signatory status.
• Assist with preparation of budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans
• Assist with preparation of Board papers as required.
• Involvement with audit engagements
• Assist with Finance-related projects and Finance Department's contribution to bank-wide projects

Background:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with banking experience.
• Ability to prepare financial, management and regulatory reports.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS with up-to-date technical accounting knowledge
• Prior experience in accounting in Banking
• Good Excel and systems skills
