Job description
Investigo are currently partnering a rapidly expanding business within the Leisure sector. This business is in need of a technical strong Assistant Financial Controller to a ensure the robust day-to-day operation of the team and production of financial information is accurate.
Responsibilities:
- Implement designated controls, and checks, within the Finance team.
- Support in ensuring effective and accurate reporting of transactional information.
- Ensure compliance with accounting and Tax regulations.
- Liaise with various external bodies, including external auditors, HMRC, Banking partners and other service providers.
- On a monthly basis, support the FC to create reports and statements detailing the financial position of the Company.
- Work with the Bank and Cash Manager ensuring safe custody of all cash and bank balances.
- Be responsible for the accounting of Fixed Assets and the maintaining of the fixed asset register.
- Assist the FC with ensuring financial processes are adhered to and updating policies and procedures as and when required.
- Ensure monthly reconciliations of all relevant balance sheet accounts are done, this includes the review of some reconciliations and performing others.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Support the FC with responding to all year-end audit requests.
- Assist with the review of the year-end statutory accounts.
- Assist the FC with reconciling accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
- Look for opportunities to streamline processes and other process efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified - at least 3 years PQE
- Experience of working in a group financial reporting team.
- Have experience of dealing with financial auditors through a year-end process.
- Have some experience of leading finance teams in a fast-paced business with competing, and often conflicting demands.
