Assistant Shipping Manager

My client source and supply food products worldwide and are now looking for an Assistant Shipping Manager.

They need someone with experience dealing with container shipping companies. Use to negotiating contracts.

key duties include :

• Utilising knowledge of customs tariffs to ensure all shipments are customs cleared efficiently and against applicable Customs tariffs.
• Procuring, managing, and reviewing Service provider partnerships, to ensure KPI's are achieved with the best ROI.
• Using my knowledge of documentation and country requirements to produce accurate shipping documents and customs clearance
• Continuous review of Government legislations
• Procurement of Freight via a tender process for quarterly contracts on busy shipping lanes.
• Working with and onboarding new suppliers
• Reporting on Late shipments

• Organising Road haulage and worldwide freight
• Consulting with Shipping Brokers for fast and effective clearance
• Tracking Worldwide Container Shipments
• Freight forwarder account handling
