JOB DESCRIPTION


The role will give you an opportunity to use your knowledge across a whole range of maintenance works from pre-inspections through disrepair, fire re-instatement work, diagnosing faults, specialist works to post-inspection. You will be undertaking property surveys, specifying works and managing delivery by ERD (our in-house maintenance team) or contractors, ensuring works are undertaken without delay and completed to the highest quality. We are aiming for holistic provision of service, and you will develop close working relationships with other teams - Repairs, Housing Management, Customer Services, H&S and more - and with other stakeholders, including residents, Council Officers and Councillors, as we grow the team to be best-in-class.

Experience: 3 years minimum post qualification.

Of designing alterations & minor improvements

Contract administration

Within private practice.

Of working on public buildings.

Qualifications: Member of RICS or CIOB or equivalent

Essential Skills Good communication skills

Time management.

IT - use of Word, MS project, Outlook, Excel etc

Specification preparation including use of NBS.

Contract Administration on multi-discipline projects

Report writing

CAD skills and detailing

Desirable Mechanical and electrical knowledge

AutoCAD or Vectorworks skills.

Familiarity with NBS including contract administrator.

Direction and management of support staff.

Knowledge of Building Health & Safety legislation

Function

· Design and Contract Administration including

Chairing meetings and issuing succinct accurate minutes.

Liaising with clients and agreeing appropriate briefs

Surveying, specifying works

Preparing schedule of works

Overseeing works on site including issuing contract instructions and preparing cost reports and certificates.

· General building survey work including measured surveys, and defect diagnosis.

· Preparing feasibilities.
