We are supporting a local authority who have an urgent requirement for an interim Capital Accountant. The Authority have a number of major Capital programmes and with the on going changes taking place externally, an experienced and dynamic individual is needed to help deliver these projects and make changes where needed.

Job Summary

Manage work with Budget Managers to confirm savings proposals and capital projects assist with costing potential pressures and saving, actively participate in regular
meetings with business area to challenge and scrutinise monitoring figures, undertake service analysis to support the year-end position and the Accounts Manage financial modelling of new services or changes to existing services including impact from specific legislation policy changes, assess implications for the Council

Successful candidates will need to hold a full accounting qualification and have extensive experience of working in a capital function at a local authority, or other public sector organisations. Along with having fixed asset and capex experience.
