Change / Communications Specialist

Barnwood, Gloucester 2 days a week / Remotely based 3 days a week

6 months initially (potential to extend)

Inside IR35 - FCSA accredited umbrella companies only

£415pd

**BPSS Security clearance will be required before the chosen candidate can start (onboarding expectations of 2-4 weeks)**

The chosen individual will also be required to attend a drugs & alcogol check prior to going on site

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive change and communications specialist able to support the successful delivery of IT change to our business.

Nature and Scope :

You will use your business change and communications skill to work as part of a project team ensuring that approaches are appropriate to the organisational culture and capacity for change. You will work with business and IT stakeholders to plan and deliver the business change and communications activities necessary to successfully embed the change within the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Actively represent the IT function, ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained with the business * Collaborate with business, IT and third-party stakeholders to identify and assess potential impacts of the proposed change, including alterations to working conditions and practices, business processes, internal and external standards and effects on people and behaviours. * Identify business change risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies that need to be managed, including those impacting on nuclear safety (License Condition 36) * Advise on optimal business change approaches, drawing on business and industry knowledge and reflecting organisational culture, affordability, risk appetite and change capacity in order to gain support from stakeholders * Support the mobilisation and delivery of large or complex projects or programmes, ensuring an understanding of purpose and approach is developed, in conjunction with an understanding of business change considerations and how they will be addressed * Plan and deliver engagement and adoption activities required to successfully embed the change, ensuring effective and adequate business input. Work with the project team to understand solution designs, business procedures and cut-over implementation activities to ensure consistency with the business change approach and delivery of the required communications in support of business readiness.

The Individual

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

  • Experience of working within a variety of IT and/or business roles in particular business change and communications * Experience in designing and delivering effective communications to a variety of audiences, demonstrating excellence presentation and written skills with relevant experience of building relationships with senior executives, business managers and third parties * Knowledge of business change and communications approaches, and how these can be adapted to suit business needs * Strong facilitation skills, including negotiation, influence, mediation and conflict management skills * Effective leadership, interpersonal and decision-making skills * Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems in a manner which is sensitive to the business environment and culture, and which recognises business constraints and operational priorities * Ability to be flexible with attention to detail, a commitment to quality and the ability to think strategically * Ability to influence and deliver through others by managing networks outside of direct reporting lines * Ability to manage senior stakeholders with different business imperatives and expectations * Knowledge of business change and communications techniques, including impact assessment and stakeholder analysis
