I am recruiting for an absolutely fantastic role as a Finance analyst working for a FTSE 100 retail firm. This is a 12 month FTC but highly likely to become permanent with AMAZING progression opportunities. You will need to be studying towards a professional Accountancy qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), . My client requires someone articulate, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a strong commercial acumen.

The role works within the Finance team and is responsible for supporting a business area. This role is responsible for creating the assets required to effectively business partner, focusing on value creation and collectively strengthening our performance. The job holder will provide insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders, aiming to influence and drive decisions and actions that improve the bottom line. This individual will support the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Managers in their business area and the wider Finance team as required.

The role:

Run and interpret management reporting to provide timely insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders
Identify risks, anomalies and opportunities and flag these to Finance Manager / Senior Finance Managers for prioritisation
Build an understanding of an external perspective and use to engage Finance colleagues
Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis for the business area as required to drive improvements
Work with internal teams including; Marketing Analytics, Digital or ADA as required to complete analysis to resolve business problems
In line with timeline and process set by FP&A, work with business to manage Forecasting, LV, Centrals, Budgeting & Q2F
Build business cases and support post implementation reviews
Support the business to manage project budgets (if relevant), working with other Finance teams where collaborative projects demands this
Run Finance Basics master classes with wider business if required
Support the wider team on other Finance processes and budgets as required
Attend business review meetings supporting our Stakeholders as needed
Success in this role will mean supporting the business in making decisions that enhance performance to drive incremental income for the business, improving ROI performance and managing cost lines effectively

Candidate Specification:

Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), or studying towards qualification
Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight and being able to clearly articulate this through your communication
Strong commercial acumen
To have a good track record of strong financial control, but also the ability to maintain such an environment
Team player, able to work effectively within frameworks without direct supervision
Effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen
Self-motivated team player, able to work autonomously, prioritise with good problem-solving abilities
Must have a strong eye for detail and accuracy
