Job description


at Investigo we are recruiting for a Finance Analyst to work for a industry leading company based in London.


The role
* Support the Retail Finance Stockloss team across various aspects of analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
* Support, challenge and provide insight to Central Retail teams, in particular Loss Prevention, on all financial aspects of commercial decision-making as directed by the Senior Finance Analyst

Principle accountabilities
* Preparation of papers for key decision makers, including the Central Retail Director and Retail Leadership Team
* Business partnering key stakeholders, together with building strong relationships and influencing business decisions
* Project work providing value adding analysis to key stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, opportunities, tracking the success of in-store trials, create recommendations as well as business case investment appraisal
* Working alongside other areas of the business to drive transformation and change, using agile ways of working
* Period end close process ensuring the integrity of the Corporate Stockloss P&L and balance sheet
* Own and deliver periodic reporting to key stakeholders, clearly and concisely, referencing key highlights at monthly meetings
* Supporting the production of robust Corporate budgets, mixing the detailed store view with the macro corporate view to ensure the accuracy of the numbers
* Quarterly production of store budgets, engaging and challenging key Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders to ensure the integrity of the store targets
* Production of the waste Monday morning reports
* Proactively challenge the current processes and controls, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing
* Timely response to ad hoc store queries around budgets, reporting and general Stockloss enquiries
* Develop an excellent understanding of stock systems, process and accounting within Sainsbury's
* Provide cover for the Senior Finance Analyst when appropriate

* Completion of work to a high standard and by the set deadlines
* Facilitate informed business decision making through insightful analysis and papers

* Delivery of process improvements
* Deliver robust budgets and forecasts, as well as key messages to a variety of stakeholders
* Accurate and timely completion of the period accounts, with relevant and insightful variance analysis
* Demonstrable enthusiasm in approach to role
* Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.

* Advanced Excel skills (pivot-tables, lookups & sumifs)
