What you'll be doing

This role is part of the FP&A team which sits in the Finance function. This role will work closely with the Marketing teams that cover acquisition, retention, brand, content and strategic customer initiatives. Wider stakeholders will include other parts of Finance and the Analytics team.

  • Be the Financial partner to the Marketing teams. This includes liaising with the leadership on their financial needs from analysis, to budgeting, forecasting and standalone initiatives.
  • Own and maintain the medium term planning, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Provide analysis and assessment of performance against the agreed budget and forecasts / plans on a monthly basis and be ready to pivot on tactical initiatives. Provide support for the commercial functions and act as an enabler to maximize the potential for this area.
  • Develop and improve reporting execution, delivery, and analysis to steer the resulting actions. New reporting modules include things like customer models, customer cohort profitability, acquisition channel analysis and longer term projections
  • Work closely with partners on data points on acquisition, contribution analysis, overall health of customer database, alignment on campaign audience and spend strategy
  • Devise efficient processes for monthly and quarterly KPI performance monitoring as well as for forecasting purposes.
  • Join up with partners in FP&A on initiatives that have a wider impact, for example the performance relationship between Supply and Demand or sensitivity analysis around unit economic metrics
  • Leverage existing systems by integrating and automating reports into financial planning models.
  • Provide investment modelling support to senior marketing leadership, for example funnel analysis, acquisition cohorts, Life Time Value analysis, Cost Per Acquisition, Return on Ad Spend, Return On Investment
  • Assist in the architecture and building of a comprehensive data warehouse to provide the data necessary for trend analysis and insight to stakeholders both in Finance and Marketing.

What you'll need

  • Fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
  • Experience dealing with Marketing customer acquisition models in a digital space with demonstrable financial input
  • Experience in retail or FMCG - preferable
  • Significant experience in similar role responsible for financial planning and analysis, including managing an analyst
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge
  • Demonstrable financial modelling skills
  • Ability to size solutions quickly as much as work through detailed complex models
  • Ability to turn a strategic proposition into an executable plan, fully supported by a financial model that suits to the business
  • Proven experience working with the senior management team in the past with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Power user in Microsoft office, especially excel and powerpoint, and database management skills
  • Very strong analytical and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Natural curiosity for improving things and proactively taking initiative
  • Ability to prioritise across multiple tasks
  • Ability to work well under pressure and on tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present well to non-financial managers
