East End Foods is a business that leads from the front. A fast track, high growth, entrepreneurial business established nearly 50 years ago by the Wouhra brothers, the company has grown from a single shop in Wolverhampton to one of the UK’s largest suppliers of Spices, Pulses and Rice in the UK.
In late 2019 East End Foods joined forces with TRS, the UK market leader in Authentic Asian Foods and the group are now set to kick start the next phase of growth into 2021 and beyond. The group have identified a need to recruit a key commercial finance person for the East End Foods site in West Bromwich.
Based at the East End Foods factory site, the role of FP&A – Operations Business Partner will act as the key link between Finance and operations as the key right hand to the COO. You will be the focal point for all commercial finance related matters, providing detailed insight and helping to support strategic decision making with key stakeholders across the group. Responsibilities and duties for the role will include:
Acting as the key Business Partner to the COO and business partnering to review and improve processes across operations and supply chain, report and help manage and reduce factory waste, report and help manage effective utilisation of labour, review and help manage inventory across sites, review and help identify efficiency improvements across operations and supply chain, Finance support for the Operations Director on key projects as and when required.
Support Operations and the Buying team on analysis production, distribution, planning, procurement with a focus on developing KPI’s and enhancing insight. Monthly review of materials and packaging costs, inflation review and liaise with Buying & Finance to establish price increases where necessary. P&L ownership of all materials, packaging, labour (including variance to standard), which includes month end review to ensure completeness and accuracy, responsible for monthly stock, GRNI journals
Support the planning and budgeting process around production, distribution, costing and purchasing.
Work with the management accounts team in developing the monthly reporting and board MI.
Assisting where required within existing FP&A team, supporting in all areas, and providing cover.
Highlight future performance concerns and opportunities and take a lead role in planning commercial activities required to remediate any gaps to target.
Be the key Finance lead on Operational projects

You will have a focus on accuracy, attention to detail and a hands-on approach to problem solving. A sound knowledge of Excel and a background in FMCG, Food / Food Manufacturing is crucial in making this position a success.
