Group Accounting Manager - 12 month FTC

You will be responsible for ensuring the business has robust and timely management accounts and annual statutory accounts, produced in accordance with FRS102. You will be the technical lead on all matters financial and you will be pivotal in supporting our US expansion with appropriate and compliant accounting and tax operations. It is also your responsibility to ensure that our operational teams have the financial reporting they need to maximise profit in their channels. The role is based in London but will require approximately one day or two days a month in the Milton Keynes office.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and responsibility for production of the monthly management accounts pack, group consolidation and associated reporting, including cost centre reporting and channel P&Ls
• Ensuring a robust balance sheet via regular review of all balance sheet recs
• Production of the annual statutory accounts for the group and the 6 UK entities
• Management of 3rd parties overseas in filing local accounts as necessary (USA, Hong Kong, China and Netherlands)
• Corporation tax computations & management of corporation tax filings
• Management of the group annual audit process
• Annual budgeting and in-year forecasting of below-EBITDA P&L items, balance sheet and cashflow
• Calculation and forecasting of banking covenants

• Lead on technical accounting issues for the business
• Management of insurance claims and annual renewal process
• Setup of all accounting and tax processes and compliance in new territories

• Line Management: Lead and develop the accounting team; your direct reports are the Finance Manager (UK Management Accounts) and the Financial Accountant (USA and China). Key partners in the finance team are the Commercial Finance Manager and the Finance Operations Manager

Given the nature of the business, you are expected to be quite hands on to get things done.

Person Specification

• ACA/ACCA qualified accountant
• Delivering a great Customer Experience (internally and externally) must be second nature to you
• Retail or wholesale background preferred
• International accounting and consolidation experience
• Experience of Corporation tax computations
• Able to represent Finance and build relationships with senior management across the business
• A proactive attitude and a sense of personal accountability is vital - you need to 'lean in' and take the lead
• A demonstrable experience of embracing change and introducing efficiencies. The business is moving fast and you will need to continuously adapt to be successful
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, while juggling multiple priorities
