Job description

Investigo are delighted to be supporting a Milton Keynes based Group of Companies with their recruitment of a Group Finance Manager, on a permanent basis.


The Group Finance Manager will report into the Group Finance Director and the main purpose of this role will be to deliver key accounting information and analysis to support the business with meeting their commercial objectives and strategy. The position requires engagement with many different areas of the business across the Group.
The role is wide ranging, and it covers all aspects of preparation of the monthly accounts and supporting the day-to-day activity of the Finance Department, as well as being a Business Partner to the wider operational functions.

Key duties will include:

  • Preparation of the Annual Budget for the business, supported by a fully detailed Budget Pack
  • Production and presentation of the full Management Accounts Pack, including P&L balance sheet and variance analysis, to the Group Finance Director each month (by the agreed deadline) containing all relevant lead schedules, balance sheet reconciliations and working papers
  • Acting as a strategic business partner to the Finance Team and wider senior operational stakeholders at all times to meet commercial objectives
  • Group consolidation under IFRS
  • Supporting the Group Finance Director & senior management team with strategic growth opportunities i.e., Company acquisitions
  • Progressing the production of monthly Departmental Accounts to support the main monthly Management Accounts
  • Preparation of a detailed Audit file for use by the external Auditors in completion of their fieldwork
  • Review of incumbent manual processes with the view to automate and incorporate beat practice.
  • Assisting with the implementation of NetSuite financial management suite including installing best practice processes and identifying and resolving change management issues.
  • Assisting with the implementation of KPI dashboards for all group business units incorporating an established business technique such as the balanced scorecard.
  • Reviewing and driving internal controls to ensure financial systems and processes are robust.
  • Helping to establish and improve financial and operational processes and systems for the organisations International businesses.
  • In conjunction with the GFCD be the in-house liaison for all VAT matters.
  • Establishing best practice cashflow and capital expenditure reporting requirements.
  • Developing and implementing internal and external data capture systems to enable the companies compliance reporting requirements.
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to drive business forward.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc analysis, reports and tasks as required by the Group Finance Director


The successful Candidate will be an ACA Qualified individual with extensive all round accounting experience. They will have excellent financial accounting, management accounting and analysis knowledge, as well as the ability to effectively business partner both finance and non-finance individuals across all areas of the business. Exceptional interpersonal and IT skills are a pre-requisite for this position.
