Job description

Investigo are exclusively partnering with a wholesale banking group who are recruiting a new Head of Compliance and MLRO. You will be managing a small compliance team, within a UK branch of an international banking group. The bank covers a comprehensive range of products including loans and deposits, FX, remittance, overseas mortgages, and retail/ personal banking services to high net-worth individuals.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract. The London branch is based in the West-End of London and you will be expected to work in the office on a rota basis, whilst also working from home.

Previous experience working for an Asian banking group would be highly advantageous for this role.

Purpose of your role:

  • Promote and manage the culture and practice of regulatory compliance and ethical standards in the conduct of Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance functions across the bank.
  • Effectively manage the banks AML Compliance functions, and the regulatory risk issues.
  • Maintenance of an appropriate and effective Compliance framework.
  • To hold the SMF16 and SMF17 function for the bank.

Key Duties:

  • Be the key liaison for the bank with UK regulators, including the FCA, PRA, Bank of England, HMRC
  • Conduct regular risk and compliance data quality assessments
  • Investigation and analysis of factors that may affective risk mitigation and alignment
  • Perform gap analysis on Group related policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines, identifying any need for improvements and updating as relevant.
  • Advisory support to the UK senior stakeholders on AML and Compliance related matters
  • Continued effectiveness of the compliance monitoring strategies across the bank to ensure appropriate governance and control
  • Analysis of KPI's to ensure that AML and Compliance across the bank is in line with the appropriate regulatory standards
  • Providing guidance and training around AML and Compliance across the bank on relevant regulator matters and issues

Key Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous approved person/ appointed representative as authorised by the FCA - holder of either SMF16/ SMF17/ CF10/ CF11
  • Minimum 10 years experience within a relevant and similar banking AML/ Compliance Senior function

Salary - £120,000 - £130,000 DOE.
