Our medium sized client within the payments space has worked hard over the last 18 months to centralise it's Change / Delivery Function for the business to draw upon to successfully deliver projects & programmes. They now need someone to lead their delivery practice which in turn means leading the BA, PM & programme management practice functions.

The business are therefore looking for a Head of Delivery Practice to manage & run delivery. The leader will ensure it's delivering resource & capability throughout the business where needed. It will work strategically with the Head of Change & Head of EPMO to identify areas for change & Transformation & build delivery teams / plans to ensure best practice & successful delivery.

The role will involve:

  • Working with the Head of Change & EPMO to strategically plan projects & deliver change effectively
  • Ensure programmes are planned, resourced & overseen from a management perspective
  • Coach, lead & progress team members within each practice pool to ensure engagement & development.
  • Work with key business stakeholders to identify areas of change & plan delivery / approaches with them
  • Ensure the centralised change function follows the standardised change delivery framework to ensure best practice
  • Represent the deliver function internally to the senior stakeholders providing updates, capability & pipeline of work regularly

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Leadership of a delivery function previously
    • Overseeing a centralised function of BA, PM & Programme management resource
    • Head of Change experience would be considered
  • Financial Services experience across payments or retail banking preferred
    • Defence or critical national infrastructure experience also desirable
  • Senior stakeholder management
    • Demonstrating the ability to take stakeholders through the delivery journey
  • Planning & strategy experience around delivery timelines, resource & budget
  • Management of small tams & matrix management of 50 - 75 project professionals
  • Leading from the front in terms of delivery, attitude & standards
  • Rolling out a centralised way of working & delivering change

This role would suit a previous; Head of Practice, Head of Change, Head of Delivery or Portfolio level PMO.

This role leads the delivery function for the client. It's responsible for planning & delivery of all change within the business & therefore requires a strategic delivery leader that has worked with a centralised function previously. Some of the role will be to upskill the workforce & build it.

The role offers high level exposure within the organisation & is crucial to the centralised function running successfully.

This role is fully remote at presence however office presence will be required when the offices become available. The business will operate a hybrid working model & are very flexible around working practices.
