Head of Digital Technologies - Ex CIO - Contract - OUTSIDE IR35

My client in the Education Sector are looking for an experienced Head of Digital Technologies to join them on an initial 6 month contract. We are looking for candidates who may be late career CIO or senior IT Leaders, who are looking to bring their experience into a new environment. The key element of this is that the role operates in a Business Partnership capacity with our stakeholders. They will develop technology plans with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  1. Provide leadership to a diverse team of virtual and direct as required for the role.
  2. Lead the creation and management of technology roadmaps, defining future release iterations and potential feature upgrades and timelines and indicative resource requirements in the digital domain.
  3. Be the senior relationship manager between stakeholders, customers/users, and technology teams establishing regular dialogues to capture feature requests and value requirements and understand strategic priorities. To develop and articulate clear business cases with resource costings and funding sources identified.
  4. Lead horizon scanning of future trends and developments in business technology products for the sector; to collaboratively define an innovative, robust and efficient approach to technology and products aligned to business needs.
  5. Ensure solutions proposed are assessed for compliance and regulatory requirements, advising Product Owners and key stakeholders on roles and responsibilities.
  6. Drive improvements based on user feedback, fact-based analysis and a keen understanding of both technology and sector trends, focused on the organisations strategic aims.
  7. As a project lead take ownership of defining IT services activities and roles and responsibilities, work with stakeholders so that there is agreement and clear definition of who is responsible and accountable for processes and deliverables involving business technology and underpinning
  8. Maintain financial controls and forecasts to meet agreed budgets, managing suppliers, contracts and external consultants including procurement and tendering to ensure value for money.
