Job description

Investigo Private Equity are currently partnering with a Private Equity backed Real Estate business, who are looking to onboard a new Head of Group Reporting. This is a newly created role, which will see the successful Head of Group Reporting join the business at a key point in the business' growth strategy and trajectory, the main focus' of the Head of Group Reporting role will be focused around technical accounting, accounting processes, team management and most importantly, an efficient delivery of the statutory reporting & audit. In addition, the Head of Group Reporting position will get involved in some really interesting project work, specifically around M&A and due diligence, so it's a great opportunity for someone with a technical skillset who is looking to branch out into more commercial projects as well. This role is tailor made from someone from an audit background, candidates straight from a top 10 accountancy firm will also be considered (Manager and above).

The Role

  • Ownership for the year-end statutory financial reporting process, including accounts preparation and disclosures for group entities in accordance with IFRS
  • Preparation and review of Group consolidations at several levels for statutory reporting purposes
  • Planning and communicating the year-end reporting cycle ensuring reporting and filing targets are set and met in a timely manner
  • Driving improvements to the statutory accounts, with a view to a potential future transaction
  • Leadership of the year-end audit process, including co-ordination with the audit team, managing deliverable to an agreed timetable and responding to queries
  • Management of external advisor relationships in collection with financial reporting such as the auditor, external valuers, accounting services
  • Ownership of all technical accounting analysis to ensure compliance with requirements including the preparation of high quality and well considered technical accounting papers and the provision of technical advice
  • Provision of guidance on the accounting for acquisitions, disposals and group restructuring
  • Manage the consolidation for monthly management accounts purposes
  • Work with the management accounts team to review and analyse month-end results
  • Ownership of reserve, financing and IFRS16 related accounts ensuring they are reconciled on a monthly basis
  • Assist Head of Tax with year-end tax reporting requirements, transfer pricing and other ad-hoc tasks
  • Leading a team of 3 qualified accountants (Group Reporting Manager, Senior Financial Accountant, Financial Accountant), including oversight of their day-to-day activities and review of the work they produce
  • Manage their professional development, including providing technical guidance to help broaden their knowledge and understanding of financial reporting requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the Financial Reporting function
  • Improve processes to enable consistent, timely Group reporting
  • Subject matter expert for technical accounting areas including IFRS16
  • Working with the Management Accounting team to bring Management Accounts in line with external reporting requirements

Your Profile

  • Qualified Accountant with 5 years + PQE (ACA preference)
  • Strong IFRS knowledge
  • Strong demonstration of improving accounting processes
  • Straight from practice is desirable (Audit Manager or above)

Salary

£90,000 + Bonus
