Infrastructure Project Manager

Hybrid - Oxford

£75,000 + car allowance

The Infrastructure Project Manager will play a key role as part of the Project Management Office of the Global Technology Team (GTT). The purpose of the GTT PMO is to "Do the right projects and do the projects right".


As a Project Manager, the PM is responsible for planning, executing, and finalising technology projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.

The Infrastructure Project Manager will also define the project's objectives, measure success, and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, based on defined Project Management standards.


We are looking for a hands-on Project Manager for an upcoming large scale transformation programme focus to upgrade/replacement/modern management of end-user devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key deliverables for this role are:

  • Define and document project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Determine and assess need for additional project staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitment if necessary, during project cycle.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project time lines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Understand the business strategy and product road map currently being delivered and the relationship and inter-dependency with the technology road map.
  • Actively manage the Risk Log, Action Log, Decisions Log, and Issue Register.
  • Coordinate project closure to distil good practice and ensure lessons learned are logged.
  • Organise and manage steering committee meetings.
  • Collaborate on daily basis with the local technology teams including IT Managers, Service Delivery Managers and IT staff and report progress to the Global PMO.
