Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role

· To work closely with the Asset managers and the business units to help define and document the overall ITAM Approach, Policies and the Procedures for the management of the IT Assets both hardware and software.

· Develop the roles and responsibilities matrix.

· Support and guide the Business Units to implement these new procedures underpinned and supported by the ServiceNow ITAM (SAM & HAM) technical capability.

· Work closely with the Discovery Team, ITAM Technical Analyst to ensure that the configuration is appropriate to support the processes, which maintaining and 'out-of-the box' (no customisation) approach to the platform.

· Once the best practice processes have been defined, to help in the operationalisation of the processes in the Business Units, tailoring where appropriate the process to align with the Units way of working, whilst still maintaining the integrity of the process

· Establish a centralised governance and best practice function, to support ITAM in the organisation and the business units, including support to optimise the use of the IT assets (both Hardware and Software), to deliver operational benefits.

· Act as a brand ambassador for the Tech Transformation team and play an active role in positively shaping how transformation capabilities are perceived by the wider business

Key challenges faced on the role

· To balance the introduction of standard ITAM process and governance, whilst still being sensitive to the local requirements and ways of working in the local markets.

· Ensure that the benefits of ITAM are communicated effectively to the business to ensure 'buy-in' to the transformation activities.

Experience & Expertise

· Experience of the management and governance of IT Assets (Both Hardware and Software Asset Management), in line with ITIL best practice and ideally ISO/IEC 19770

· Excellent stakeholder management experience, including the ability to convey the benefits of appropriate best practice in the management of IT Assets.

· Experience of the use of ServiceNow CMDB, Hardware and Software Asset Management capability. (Desirable)

· Excellent analytical skills including an ability to anticipate and highlight potential issues and opportunities

· Ability to engage, build relationships with and influence senior leadership and key business stakeholders

· Possesses exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage different audiences at all levels

Skills & Competencies


· IT Asset Management best practice (ITIL and ISO/IEC 19770)

· Analysis of current ways of working, gap analysis, and implementation plans.

· Preparation of ITAM process and policy documentation

· Communication skills - both written and verbal and across a wide range of stakeholder group from management level to operational level

Desirable Criteria / Qualifications

· Minimum 8-10 years' experience in IT Asset Management including both Hardware and Software Asset Management

· ITIL or IAITAM qualification in Asset Management

· Desirable to have achieved ServiceNow certifications in ITOM, Discovery and/or ITAM

· Degree educated or equivalent
