Job description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Management Accountant to join our clients finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and accounting, with the ability to provide insightful analysis and support to drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and update budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations for improvements.
- Cost Control: Analyse and report on cost variances, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability analysis, trend analysis, and financial modeling.
- Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Audit Support: Assist with the preparation for external audits and liaise with auditors as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support for various projects and initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
