Job description
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Teams Technical Lead to support the adoption of Microsoft Teams as part of a wider IT transformation programme, triggered by our client's recent M&A. The client has decided to set up a new enterprise IT environment using a Greenfield approach. The scope of this project includes the design and implementation of collaboration/telephony (Teams) and network (LAN/WAN) for the new environment. This is a remote role.
Responsibilities
- Technical lead for the Microsoft Teams workstream
- Design the technical architecture for the new environment
- Align dependencies between Teams and other components across the IT environment
- Ensure that all requirements, including functional and non-functional, across all Teams components are addressed.
- Develop a rollout plan for Teams and ensure it is aligned within the organisation
- Develop and review technical documentation, e.g., user migration documents, architecture/design documents, test plans
- Analyse and plan for interfaces, plug-ins and dependencies on Exchange as required
- Support the development of a tailored rollout strategy to ensure the smooth adoption of Teams, including networking, compatibility with existing interfaces and end user devices across the estate
- Lead technical preparations for the pilot and main rollout
- Identify and resolve technical risks to rollout
- Support issue resolution during pilot, main rollout and hypercare
- Agree technical decisions with respective Service Owners as needed
Requirements
- At least five years' experience as technical lead / SME for Microsoft Teams
- Solid experience in the architecture, networking and telephony aspects of Teams
- Experience in user migrations
- Strong knowledge of collaboration tools in an enterprise environment
- Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 and implementation in an enterprise environment
- Strong experience working with the systems required to support Teams, such as end user devices
- Good understanding of the underlying IT infrastructure required for workplace solutions, including network design and implementation
