Business Development Manager - Vehicle Fleet Rental (SME Sector)

Our client, a major European vehicle rental company, is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to generate new business within the SME sector. This role will be based on the road, so applicants from anywhere in the UK are welcome.

This is a high-energy, target-driven position on identifying and winning new corporate clients with rental requirements. The role is split 80% new business development and 20% account management, requiring a proactive mentality to build a robust sales pipeline and convert prospects into long-term profitable relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, pitch and secure new SME business within your geographical territory
  • Build and maintain an accurate sales pipeline using CRM tools
  • Develop tailored proposals showcasing the value of van and car rental solutions
  • Successfully implement new contracts and ensure smooth vehicle delivery
  • Provide monthly forecasting to support business planning

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven B2B sales experience in vehicle fleet rental, car hire or fleet management
  • Track record of winning and growing corporate accounts
  • Results-driven with demonstrable success in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills with decision-makers
  • Excellent commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple prospects simultaneously
  • IT proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems)
