Job description

Investigo is excited to be working with a client based in St Albans who are looking for an Interim Payroll Administrator to join their team.

The role:

  • Communicate all deadlines to Managers and other key stakeholders.
  • Collate information on sickness, absence and overtime ad ensure it is correctly processed and accurately reflected in submissions.
  • Administer the payroll system for any company hardship loans, new cycle to work schemes, or other such schemes. Manage and maintain the respective reconciliations.
  • Manage the monthly process of expense claims (on a separate system) and upload to the payroll system.
  • Review, check and confirm final payroll is correct, then submit to Group Financial Controller for review and sign off.
  • Check and validate pension output from payroll reports and upload to pension platform to enable the direct debit to be collected prior to deadline.
  • Administer, manage and check the Zero-hours payroll, make submissions to the bureau via the payroll system.
  • Calculate and advise of any ad-hoc payments required outside of the main payroll, for example late starters after the payroll cut off. Ensure this is accurately reflected in subsequent payroll.
  • Assist with month end payroll journals and analytical review.
  • Manage and maintain the payroll reconciliations that feed into the monthly Management Accounts.
  • Assist with the production of P11d/expenses and Benefits in Kind.
  • Assist with payroll queries from Managers, Employees and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with any changes to systems or procedures as required.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks related to payroll.

Profile:

  • Likely to be studying towards/qualified in payroll.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, sumifs, pivot tables).
  • Has a high level of accuracy and excellent verbal and written skills.
  • A good working knowledge of HR practices would be helpful.
  • Regular usage of payroll systems, including data compilation and input
