Payroll Clerk

An opportunity has arisen for a leading employer based in Hemel Hempstead who are seeking a Payroll Clerk. You will be working as part of a large team and managing the end to end payroll process within the UK.

Main responsibilities:

  • Review and sign off of monthly payroll, third party and adhoc payments
  • Produce standard monthly and adhoc reporting as required
  • Administration of childcare vouchers and cycle to work
  • Process court orders in a timely manner
  • Respond to queries via phone/email/in person
  • Handle Inland Revenue correspondence and administration
  • Assist with the administration of time and attendance systems with club administrators
  • Provide timely data for P11Ds in relation to sponsorship cars and private medical insurance
  • Calculate Class 1A NI including regular forecasting of amounts to be paid
  • Monthly reconciliation of all allocated payroll related balance sheet control accounts
  • National Statistics data reporting
  • Involvement in any projects that impact on Payroll
  • Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to this role

What Key Skills, Experience and qualifications are required:

  • Understanding of Payroll Accounting / Finance
  • Payroll of high volume
  • Proven experience working in a fast paced payroll environment
  • Highly numerate and detail oriented
  • Be proactive in driving efficiencies and producing new ideas for improved ways of working
  • Able to communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing to both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Intermediate Excel skills
