Product Owner Coach x 4 - Telecoms client
Contract - Inside IR35 (umbrella route) - £500-572pd
Remote or London
6 months initially (view to extend)
Background required (**unfortunately if this experience is not demonstrated on your CV, you will not be considered**)
- Min of 2 years of PO experience to deliver complex change into a BAU organisation through agile ways of working. A min of 2 years working as a Senior Product Owner and or Product Manager across multiple Product Owners.
- Coaching, mentoring and training skills
- Technical knowledge on transforming a complex OSS/BSS constraint business - ideally Telecom/Tech/Financial sectors
Skills required:
- Product Owner skill set: Seasoned, well developed PO skills across value creation, defining outcomes, agreeing operational benefits, managing backlogs, breaking down work & holding teams to account for delivery of outcomes
- Business Improvement skills : Skilled at identifying & managing opportunities for business process simplification and standardisation
- Coaching: Skilled at coaching the business in the role of Product Owner
- Training: Skilled at running both theory based training around Product Owner tools & techniques as well as running practical clinics where real life examples are worked through
- Facilitation: Excellent workshop facilitator & communicator, with the ability to prep, run and close workshops with clear actionable activities
Accountabilities:
Note the scope for a Product Owner Coach is large in size and complexity for a product/service/initiative roadmap and includes coaching and uplifting multiple cross-functional teams. You will be assisting roughly 1-2 Product Owners to:
- Manage and prioritize work through the backlog management
- Identify cost transformation/simplification opportunities through shaping ROI driven epics
- Identify and manage dependencies to other squads and BAU operations
- Understand 'what good looks like' and to setup a performance culture in the squad with recognition /rewards as well as handling areas of development
- Outcome planning for next year (FY22)
- Managing the value creation pipeline
- Dependency management across squads and tribes
- Be accountable for the outcome of the squad's work and ensuring that it meets customer requirements
- Work with Tribe Lead to define Epics (squad-sized workloads delivered within a quarter), coordinating with other Product Owners / Product Owner Coaches
- Define the scope and vision for minimum viable product and minimum marketable product based on customer needs, resolving the trade-offs and bridging the gap between customer, business and tech considerations
- Represent voice of the customer, regularly seek feedback from users and use the feedback, coupled with quantitative data, to iterate rapidly
- Work with team to solve customer problems, create user stories to deliver Epics
- Monitor and track the squad's success metrics (e.g. journey NPS) and prioritise work accordingly
- Liaise with BAU operational stakeholders across the company to support delivering efficiencies unlocked by the Squad that need to be delivered in the BAU
