Project Manager - Business Change/Improvement - Birmingham/Flexible

We are supporting a high-profile organisation in the regulatory sector in their search for an experienced Project Manager to deliver strategically critical transformation and change projects. You'll be joining a fast-moving environment with complex programmes of work already underway, where stakeholder collaboration, structure, and clarity are key. The role will be 1 day a week minimum in the office in Birmingham, the rest from home.

This role will suit someone with proven delivery experience across complex, multi-stakeholder programmes. You will ideally have experience in a regulated, policy-driven, or government environment. You'll be managing multiple concurrent projects within a wider transformation and compliance portfolio.

You will be expected to operate autonomously while collaborating across teams, including Business Change Managers, Business Design Leads, and senior programme stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage full project documentation including plans, RAID logs, road maps, governance packs.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery within a structured governance framework.
  • Provide clear, concise updates to stakeholders including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Identify scope changes and support decision-making in ambiguous or evolving environments.
  • Oversee financials, forecasts, and resourcing models.
  • Deliver under time pressure - working across 3+ concurrent urgent workstreams.
  • Operate within a regulated, policy-rich landscape, ensuring projects meet compliance standards.

Experience Required:

  • Solid track record delivering end-to-end projects within regulated or public sector environments.
  • Experience managing complex portfolios with multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities.
  • Familiar with governance processes, project lifecycles, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management - you should be able to cut through the noise.
  • Able to quickly understand detailed policy or regulatory context.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills - able to clearly articulate plans, progress, and outcomes.

Salary:

This role is paying a day rate of £550/day inside IR35.

Duration:

The duration of this contract will run for 6 months initially, with high likelihood of extension to 12 months.
