SAC Planning Development
Manager
£60,000 - £80,000 + Package
Location - Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham


Why this role matters


The Group Finance COE is a new function within Finance that is being established to help the Finance community maximise the value that we gain from our investment in SAP. This new function will lead the design, development and support of standardised SAC templates and planning models that enable best in class planning capabilities across the Finance organisation.

The focus of this role is to design and manage the development of new SAP planning templates and models in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

You will be responsible for:
* Designing and managing the developing of new standardised SAC planning templates and models that support our strategic planning processes
  • Managing stakeholder requirements and ensuring that the design of our new SAC planning templates and models meets those requirements and enables best in class planning processes


You are:
  • An experienced manager of SAC planning design or development in a large organisation, with a strong track record of delivering efficient and effective SAC planning templates and models

* A commercially astute SAP advocate, comfortable working with stakeholders to translate their planning requirements into best in class SAC planning templates and models
* A technical specialist, who leverages their skills and experience to design and deliver SAP planning capabilities that positively transform planning processes


What you'll be doing

  • Designing and managing the development of SAC planning templates and models that improve the level of planning capability across Finance
  • Being a vocal advocate for SAP planning capability development and the value-add that can be achieved from an efficient and effective system-based planning approach
  • Implementing best in class development practises to deliver flexible and versatile solutions
  • Managing planning capability development projects, reporting on progress, risks and issue resolution
  • Working closely with Group and Unit Planning teams to ensure development of appropriate planning templates and models that meet planning capability requirements
  • Working closely with the Group Technology function to ensure appropriate support for new planning template and model development projects (e.g. managing requirements into Technology for changes in the underlying CFIN or BW data structures)
  • Effectively managing stakeholder relationships across Finance and Technology to deliver SAP planning development project initiatives
  • Establishing robust checking and validation processes for planning capability development with a zero-tolerance approach to technical error
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of current performance trends across the company in order to ensure planning capability developments support key commercial challenges


The skills & experience you need

  • Finance qualification (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
  • Strong hands-on technical skills in SAP (particularly SAC and BPC)
  • SAP planning template and model design experience
  • Management of SAC planning model development projects
  • Expert understanding of SAP planning capability development best practice
  • Brilliant stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Strong presentation skills, in particular the ability to interpret and summarise complex technical proposals and solutions for non-technical and senior executive audiences
  • Strong attention to detail with a zero-tolerance approach to technical error
  • Solution driven, innovative, pace-setting and focused on commercial impact
