Senior Engineering Test Manager

£80,000 - £120,000

We are undertaking a large scale transformation across Finance and Tax enabled by SAP S/4 HANA. The implementation of S/4 will be across our Ocean and Logistics businesses and will be over a 3 year time period.

The Senior Engineering Test manager will have overall test delivery oversight and responsibilities alongside our implementation partners.
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Test Manager If this sounds like you, read on! By boarding the journey, you will;

• 
  Create and implement SAP Test strategies for a global template roll out.
  * Work with the business to develop detailed test scenarios
  * Build an internal capability to reduce reliance on external partners
  * Direct responsibility of testers based within the product workstreams.
  * Introduce ways of working and best practices across Test Automation, Test Data management, Virtualisation and Performance Engineering.
  * Provide feedback and input into the technology delivery framework.

Key responsibilities
* Own delivery of Test Strategy to deliver Testing, both manual and Automated, as well as performance test planning, design and test case creation.
* Communicate and coordinate planning, design and execution activities for Integration testing, Regression, BRT and performance testing across multiple workstreams within a program of work.
* Plan ahead to ensure Environments and test data is available, as per requirements and schedules.
* Engage with upstream and downstream teams and system owners to share and align our integration plans and schedules.
* Resource management, resource and team planning. Including recruitment when required. Leadership and people management.
* Setting standards and best practices within the test team as well as testing activities across workstreams.
* Review scenarios for coverage against scope. Review test cases for quality and traceability to requirements.
* Daily Progress reporting across all test activities.
* Manage expectations of stakeholders, using verbal, written and reporting skills.

Required experience & skills
Essential
* Minimum 5 years experience as a senior or program Test Manager
* Certified Test Manager or equivalent qualification
* Implementation knowledge of Test Automation and Performance Testing best practices.
* Experience of delivering SAP projects, preferably S4/Hana.
* Experience of working with Implementation partners on a large program. Whilst delivering a Global template would be beneficial.
* An understanding of WRICEFs, how to break them down into Work Items and how they relate to transports.
* Ability to work with multiple teams and understand how-to stand-up test data across all end to end systems. Being able to introduce standards or tooling based on your experience would be a good addition.
* Ability to understand environment landscapes, systems, and middleware. Using this to create clear environment requirements.
* Working understanding of SAP Solution Manager and Focused Build.
* Being able to influence people to support our shift left strategy and early feedback principles.
* Understanding of Waterfall and Agile delivery methods.

Nice to have
* Awareness of ALM tools, including Jira and Aha.
* Experience of working in a matrix management environment.
* SAP knowledge around ATR, PTP, ATR and OTC modules.
* Experience of Tosca and IFTT tools for Test Automation and virtualisation.
* Cloudtest or Loadrunner (Performance centre) for Performance testing.
* Experience of working in a matrix management environment.
