Our client is a biotechnology company specializing in genetic medicine, having built a world leading pipeline for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)
LOCATION:
Greater Columbus Ohio Area
TITLE:
Scientist I, Early Stage Process Development
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop robust, well-characterized, high quality and high yielding upstream production processes for gene therapy viral vectors using mammalian adherent or suspension cell lines
- Plan and execute experiments at bench scale (shake Flask, AMBR, 1-3L disposable bioreactors, and rocking platform bioreactors) to support the development of mammalian cell culture processes for viral vectors production
- Design and execute process development studies to develop a thorough understanding of operating and performance parameters
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ph.D. in Bioengineering, biology, biochemistry or related degree with 1 - 3 years of postgraduate experience; Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience will be considered
- Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques for adherent or suspension culture systems in batch and fed-batch modes; previous experience in stable cell line development is a plus
- Previous experience in media development for improving cell culture processes is desired
