Senior Software Engineer - Tech Lead

Location: Remote - options to work hybrid or fully remote

Salary & Benefits: to £80,000 p/a plus a range of benefits inc. car allowance (circa £5k), holidays, great pension, real training and development, along with a variety of benefits add-ons

A long standing Investigo client is looking for a Senior Engineer to join their tech innovation hub; HQ based in London, but their tech teams are distributed across the UK. This business are 3 years in to digitising a historically 'old school' market, this is a growth role and will be a highly hands-on individual as well as lead a small group of Engineers and QA. The next 3 years is packed full of new products, features, etc - all greenfield and utilising the latest Java and cloud technology.

Leading a scrum team made up of Engineers and QA, you and your team will be the heart of technology innovation and power both the ideas and the build for a market leading group of applications that are adding in a huge number of new features, enhancements - all greenfield. You'll be predominantly hands-on building new solutions, working with architects within R&D, and drive best practice and quality in your team. The focus now is all around R&D so if you're someone who likes to be at the heart of innovation, then this will be the right role for you.

Their technology stack is a modern mix of Java, Angular, NoSQL and Azure, alongside a number of additional tools and the chance to bring new tech ideas to the table.

So, what are we looking for? There's a number of desirables but the key components to being successful are:

  • Hands-on background and a history or working with Java
  • Technical know-how and a thorough understanding of software, applications and cloud at a high/solution level;
  • Recent experience with modern cloud technology; AWS, Azure, SaaS PaaS.
  • Experience of contributing to longer term projects and the future product roadmap.

Any experience working with Angular, React or Vue would be hugely beneficial.
