Marketing Finance Analyst
up to £40k depending on experience

Purpose of the Role:

Key Business Partner to Senior Marketing Management team
Drives business performance through accurate, reliable and insightful financial reporting and analysis, to aid commercial decision making
Challenge the existing resources, systems and ways of working to drive continuous process improvement and delivery of cost efficiency targets
Drives efficiency through developing and refining current procedures, and identifying any issues

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Monthly Performance Reporting
Ownership of periodic production of management accounting and key variance analysis across all Marketing Channels (online & offline)
Coordinate the Balance sheet reconciliations and reporting processes, with the General Accounting Manager
Develop and maintain an improved set of processes and controls partnering with management and leveraging support from the wider finance team
On-going capture of risk and ops within Marketing expenditure through coordination of all key stakeholders and owns communication with FP&A and Senior Mgt.

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

Ownership of production, development and maintaining of budgets and quarterly forecasts for Marketing expenditure
Working closely and coordinating the production of Retail, Online & Multi channel customer KPI's, supporting the Marketing Finance Manager with on-going analysis of Customer KPI's
Manage the Performance Marketing budget (across Paid Search, Affiliates & SEO) - ensuring the teams are well set up to achieve trade targets and accessing efficiency KPIs with teams

Trading

Development and evaluation of commercial KPIs and objectives to drive effective oversight and commercial decision making
Deliver consistent and compelling weekly business updates that provide concise, fact-based diagnostics regarding business performance, thereby facilitating timely decision-making.
Reviewing investment opportunities within Paid Marketing by assessing Payback, ROCE, EBITDA
Ad-hoc support for marketing division to improve decision making & ensure effectiveness of marketing expenditures

Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain respectful relationships with Marketing team
Become (Be) the first point of contact for Marketing team, developing sound relationships between them and Finance
Business Partner the Marketing Mgrs for specific owned areas
Deputise for Finance Manager in the support on of the Senior Leadership team
Build a relationship with key stakeholders outside of Marketing including BMD, Ecom, Retail

Skills & Education

CIMA/ACCA/ACA Part-Qualified Accountant with strong PQE experience
Previous experience in a commercial environment and management accounting experience is essential
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present financials effectively to non-financial stakeholders
Strong financial control skills
The ability to juggle a variety of tasks in a time pressured environment where re-prioritising is the norm
Solid analytical and data interpretation skills
Curious mentality always wanting to understand why
Experience working with marketing channels would be preferred
Strong influencing skills to ensure that the best decisions are taken
Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to challenge when required and work well within and across both finance and operational teams
You have excellent collaborative and stakeholder management skills
You have advanced analysis & modelling skills
You are proactive, self-motivated and commercially minded
You can innovate and solve problems with an optimistic but pragmatic approach
You are adaptable, hardworking, personable
You are a team player with the ability to take complex financial data and explain the insights clearly to non-financial colleagues
