Senior Java Software Engineer
Location: Milton Keynes - hybrid working with majority remote roles, 1-2 days per month at HQ

An Investigo partner and software house in the UK are looking to bolster their development capability and supercharge their technology plans over the coming 3 years. There are 3 opportunities for Software Developers/Engineers with skills in Java and who are looking to take the next step either into a Tech Lead role or leading a small team (in time). The next 3 years have an exciting product and application tech roadmap, from greenfield developments to reinvigorate the platforms, changes, and a number of feature enhancements, all utilising a modern, cloud-based SaaS (AWS) technology stack.
You'll get to play a key hands-on, technical role in the evolution and continuing modernisation of several platforms, applications, and business/customer critical systems, this will involve everything from minor enhancements to full-scale application rebuilds to better leverage the tech for customers and make what they do even more accessible to customers. This is a business who is passionate about high quality software development - you'll also have the opportunity to try new ways of working, tech and develop your own personal career through various professional training and development plans.
The technology is hosted in AWS and powered by a modern blend of Java, Spring, NoSQL, Docker, JavaScript and React. Their ways of working follow Agile, utilising a Scrum delivery model, and with a quality first mindset they use a TDD approach.
So, what are we looking for?
- Hands-on technical experience using modern Java Spring technology but also good software development fundamentals;
- Technical experience using the above or a combination of the above technologies;
- Experience working in an Agile environment;
- A willingness to try something and make it work, along with someone who brings new ideas to the table.
In return you will receive a salary of up to £75,000 p/a plus a range of benefits inc. holidays, pension, health, and a variety of bespoke benefits that you can tailor.
