Location: West Midlands, remote to begin but post current restrictions there would bea mix of remote and in office working

Investigo have teamed up with a West Midlands based software house who are starting the next phase of their digital journey and moving at a rate of knots. This is an opportunity that's ideal for a senior/lead hands-on individual to make their first step up or a technically minded (and still technically capable) Development Manager. Joining at a critical time you'll immediately lead a team of 6 developers who are responsible for a group of business-critical applications that are paramount to their growth and success.

Leading a small but skilled team you'll be responsible for several critical developments over the next 2 years, these range from greenfield builds to legacy migrations into newer platform-based offerings. You will also get chance to make a real contribution to the wider software strategy and product roadmaps that will shape this organisation's offering over the next few years. Technology wise they are using/moving to the latest in .Net and utilising AWS in the cloud, they understand Agile but will be looking to the successful candidate to make improvements to the way quality software is delivered.

Reporting directly into the CIO we're looking for someone who wants to take a real step up, oversee everything software focused and in return they will offer as much professional and career development as they can.

We're looking for a few critical pieces of experience in the successful candidate:

• A background in leading key software developments, contributing as a leader and a technologist. Any experience leading teams (of any size) will be hugely beneficial;
• Hands-on experience developing using Microsoft tech, C# .Net, SQL Server, etc;
• Thorough understanding of software, cloud (ideally AWS) and Agile, if you've performed a Scrum Master type role in the past that would be useful;
• Experience working with a variety of stakeholders (both internally and externally and customers).

Any experience with software architecture or developing applications for the transport, logistics or warehouse industry would be hugely beneficial, as would an understanding of DevOps.
