zOs Systems Programmer - £500PD - Financial Services

I am currently working with a leading global technology consultancy who are looking for a zOs Systems Programmer to work for a Financial Services business on a project basis. The zOs systems programmer will require expertise in technical, domain level and specialist skills to ensure that all the engineering services are operated, maintained and constantly upgraded as technology advances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Programming, support to maintain essential environmental conditions & analysis - creating functional/technical design solutions
• Install, configure, and maintain z/OS operating systems and related software.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to optimise system efficiency.
• Manage and maintain z/OS system software, including upgrades and patches.
• Ensure the security and integrity of z/OS systems by implementing appropriate measures and conducting regular audits.

Requirements:

• Upgrading, maintaining and supporting the z/OS operating system
• Upgrading, maintaining and supporting ISV products particularly from the vendors; IBM and Computer Associates (CA)
• Production support
• Must have extensive experience of mainframe systems programming.
• Must have knowledge of a combination z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL.
• Must have knowledge of IBM and CA Products and be able to work independently.
