With a passion for building strong client relationships and a sharp eye for top talent, James brings fresh energy and insight to the team. Hear why he chose to join Investigo and how he’s looking to contribute to our continued growth and success.
Can you tell us a bit about your background and your experience leading teams and client engagement in Australia?
During my time in Australia I held a variety of roles across recruitment, tech sales and more recently professional services. In my most recent role I developed 2 new accounts – Macquarie Bank and Insurance Australia Group – selling a variety of professional services under SoW. These ranged from Staff Augmentation through to Outcome-based/ Fixed Price work as well as onshore/offshore blended project solutions.
What attracted you to join Investigo and the wider IN Group at this particular stage of your career?
There were 2 big draw cards for me. The first was the quality of the people I met throughout the recruitment process. I really enjoy working with smart, strategic, professional people that I feel I can learn from. The second was the diversity of the different businesses that form The IN Group. Business Transformations are always complex and they need different talent solutions to deliver these successfully. The ability to speak to clients about Recruitment, Professional Services, Exec and Hire-Train Deploy models is really powerful. This enables TIG (and me) to be seen as a true end-to-end transformation partner.
How do you plan to contribute to the continued growth of the Transformation business here at Investigo?
I love speaking with C-Suite and Senior Transformation professionals. I equally enjoy collaborating with others. My role with Investigo combines the two. By engaging with C-suite and Transformation/ Programme Directors, I aim to open up more large enterprise transformation opportunities for the Group.
You’ll be working closely with our C-Suite clients, what’s your approach to building meaningful relationships at that level?
The key to building and maintaining relationships at this level is demonstrating value and solving problems for them. This can be through short, sharp advisory work or mobilising teams to delivery programmes of work. I've also had previous success running roundtable events and creating a community of professionals at that level where executives feel can share their challenges in an open forum.
For those looking to engage with Investigo or Definia, whether as clients or executive-level interims, what should they expect when working with you?
My personal values when dealing with candidates and clients are honesty, transparency and a genuine interest in helping them. This could be finding a Programme Director their next gig or providing the right talent to deliver a programme of work or other solutions to solve a problem. I prefer long-term relationships over quick-wins so they can expect continuous communication and a curiosity to understand how else we can help them even after a deal is done.
