Job description

Haringey Council has a challenging period ahead, where it seeks to return more staff to working in its offices, whilst also consolidating its corporate accommodation.

To support and enable the council's change and transformation corporate programmes via the planning and delivery of office relocations, workplace refurbishments, property vacations/disposals and small relocations

To be responsible for space planning across the Council's offices.

  1. Oversee the implementation of the accommodation strategy
  2. Take direction from and provide input to the Council's relevant property governance
  3. To carry out investigations and surveys as required to inform project scope and works specifications.
  4. To commission works and oversee and monitor their delivery to time, cost and quality.
  5. To take lead responsibility for the successful delivery of relocation, vacation and accommodation moves projects and programmes to support the Council's property review and rationalisation process.
  6. To act as a key point of contract with Service Areas, providing a timely response to queries.

Provide leadership to the accommodation moves programme

  1. Define the accommodation moves programme based on supply vs demand
  2. Develop overall sequencing to meet deadlines
  3. Risks and issues management

To deliver the accommodation moves programme:

  1. Validation of floor lay-outs at each stage
  2. Maintain overall sequencing and programme working closely with other Council teams including Corporate Landlord, OFM, Digital Services and NWOW
  3. Procurement of furniture and other office equipment items as need

Experience

  • Substantial experience of successfully delivering office move projects or similar.
  • Experience of working effectively across a range of stakeholders to provide customer focused services and deliver objectives.
  • Experience of commissioning and managing consultants and construction contractors, ensuring that works are delivered effectively.
  • Experience of working within the education sector or with schools, and an understanding the specific issues relating to school premises.
  • Experience of developing briefs, service specifications and scoping services in conjunction with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level in a project management related field (or three years relevant experience).
  • Holds a relevant professional body qualification or accreditation (for example RICS, MCIOB).
  • A relevant health and Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH.
  • Project Management qualification
