Job description
My client, a fast growing industry leader based in Basingstoke are currently recruiting for a dynamic assistant accountant on a permanent basis.
Hours - 37.5 hours a week - Hybrid model - 3 days a week in the office / 2 at home

KEY OBJECTIVES
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with business stakeholders.
- Timely Task Completion: Ensure all tasks are completed according to schedules and accounting policies.
- Financial Controls: Maintain financial controls and systems within your role.
- Balance Sheet Ownership: Take ownership of balance sheet accounts and conduct reviews with relevant stakeholders.
- Analysis and Reporting: Provide appropriate financial analysis and reporting as required.
- Process Adherence: Follow standard operating procedures, capturing any necessary variations.
- Account Review: Review accounts within your area of control, identifying areas for change and taking necessary actions.
- Monthly Journals: Prepare monthly journals in collaboration with key business partners.
- Data Extraction: Run data reports and extract relevant information for other employees.
- Month-End Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting across international legal entities.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Complete balance sheet reconciliations for Finance hub reviews.
- Financial Controls Maintenance: Uphold financial controls per group policies.
- Reports Preparation: Support the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Process Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities and propose implementations.
- Stakeholder Queries: Respond accurately and promptly to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional Qualifications: Currently in the latter stages of ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in finance roles.
- Month-End Processes: Familiarity with month-end close processes.
- Process Improvements: Demonstrated experience in process improvements and standardising finance procedures.
- Relationship Building: Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
- Self-Learning: Proactive self-learning and knowledge development in various finance-related areas.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a flexible and dynamic environment.
