Job description

The successful candidate will:
* Provide the team with skills in AWS cloud computing services across our estate.
* Own the product architecture, develop product roadmaps and represent product designs providing clear communication of architecture design and decision making, in order to gain approval to proceed with designs.
* Provide leadership to deliver and support technical design of a large scale product or part of a shared platform to meet user needs and business objectives.
* Ensure technical quality, adhere to, and influence enterprise architecture principles and roadmaps.
* Lead on the development of cloud architecture design.
* Build relationships and work collaboratively with engineering teams and other Digital colleagues, including cross-government if appropriate, to implement solutions.
* Drive resolution of technical debt, to reduce the ongoing cost of services.
* Deliver product solutions and be accountable for product architecture in alignment with engineering.
* Implement architecture patterns creating reference architectures as real-world working examples of successful architecture design.
* Play a lead role in senior stakeholder engagement, to create solution options and recommendations during project discovery and inception phases.
* Provide expert advice to other Cloud Architects to drive decisions around technology choices for products, in conjunction with the enterprise architecture blueprint.
* Manage a small team of Cloud Architects and the associated architecture design backlog.
