Job description

My High growth Facilities Management business requires a Commercial Finance Manager to provide Decision Support to a number of newly acquired Business Units.
Reporting into the Financial Director, you'll be responsible for acting as the trusted advisor to the Operations team and support the management of all commercial aspects of the business including supporting pre-contract and operations. You will be expected to manage commercial risk and opportunity, resolve contractual and commercial problems as they arise.
You will ensure that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to all parties and support the delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction and presentation of budget/ quarterly forecasts by Contract and Cost Centres for current and future years
  • Ensuring that that all contracts are correctly accounted for, and closely monitored
  • throughout the contract life cycle, including implementation and execution of local governance
  • Providing financial business partnering to the Operational Leads to ensure their strategic and operational financial goals are delivered.
  • Financial analysis & modelling for the Functions initiatives including target operating models, continuous improvement, and benefits realisation.
  • Working with the Managing Director to support the future direction of the business to identify financial and commercial risks and potential mitigations.
  • To support the Team; ensure new contracts or projects are only commenced on a commercially sound and acceptable basis.
  • Assist completion of month end and subsequent delivery of high-quality monthly management accounts and reporting, including headcount reporting, variance analysis and appropriate commentary.
  • Maintaining profit margins through proper application of contractual terms.
  • Ensuring commercial elements of contracts are implemented by the operational teams including: Uplifts/change control/Invoicing/WIP/Comprehensive and SLA's/KPI's etc.
  • Ensuring change control notices are controlled in accordance with Churchill and agreed Contractual procedures. Maintain financial impact assessments for instructed change.
  • Monitoring and reporting of commercial issues and procedures through monthly contract reviews. Resolution of disputes with supplier and customers to avoid litigation.
  • Ensuring contract documentation and compliance processes are maintained.
  • Assist in the promotion and development of commercial processes throughout the region.
  • Assist in delivering commercial workshops and training to contract managers.
  • Manage and build relationships with suppliers, monitoring and reporting their performance and compliance. Enforcing the use of Preferred Suppliers.
  • Assist cost and expenditure planning.
  • Support cost management, trending estimating and forecasting to the project.
  • Analyse cost performance data and provide relevant input for monthly performance reports.
  • Support management of budget and continually identify ways to improve cost performance.
  • Assist Account Managers in the preparation of cost reports and analysis on a Work Breakdown Structure /Activity basis, identifying areas of learning and any recommendations for efficiency improvement.


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of several years post qualified experience within a fast paced commercial environment
