London - £75,000

Overview:

It is an exciting time to join Data Office Function. Due to high growth of the business and new acquisitions, has a desire to become more data driven as a result; a newly formed Data Office was established in November 2020.

To meet business demands for increased data & analytics a significant investment is being made in the Data Office; by building Data Science, Data Engineering, Master Data, Governance and MI Analytics capabilities.

The focus of this role is to architect and understand the data landscape so that it can be brought together in our new strategic platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses
  • Defining the data architecture framework, standards and principles, including modelling, metadata, security/control, reference data such as product codes and client categories, and master data such as clients, vendors, materials, and Employees alongside retention & purging
  • Defining reference architectures as patterns for others to follow to create and improve data systems
  • Data Asset Management, i.e., which parts of the organisation generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed and how data changes in transition
  • Cataloguing of data assets and version / quality control
  • Support the Business Intelligence Team in more technical aspects and new areas of functionality
  • Support the IT Service Delivery Team and share responsibility for IT & Data Office service improvement across the organisation to ensure security and compliance
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement ethos and challenge the norm to meet the objectivise of the Data Office
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the IT Team to identify and deliver cross Team initiatives and improvements
  • Own the Data Office processes and procedures relating to architecture are understood and applied by suppliers and users. Provide support when required to Projects in and outside of the Data Office
  • Expert Management: Effectively directing and advising a Team of data modelers, data Engineers, database administrators and data owners

Qualifications:

Essential

Extensive data experience of working in an SAP environment ECC, BW, HANA, ARIBA COUPA etc.

  • Extensive experience of working in an GCP environment including machine learning - BigQuery, Storage, Compute Engines, Kubernetes, Jupyter Notebook/AI Platform and GitHub / Jenkins
  • Information management and data processing on multiple platforms. Data mining and modelling tools, Information Steward, One Trust, Enterprise Architect, and Visio
  • Hands on coding abilities, especially Python and Java, as well as C/C++ and SQL
  • Master Data Governance & Integrations
  • GDPR & RBAC Data Security
  • Fluent written and spoken English Language
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to plan strategically
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Product Development Management Association and/or the Project Management Institute
  • Service delivery and improvement mind set
  • Able to work as part of a small Team from a remote location
  • Proactive, works with a sense of urgency, creative about how issues can be resolved, able to think analytically
  • Works collaboratively, constructively challenges, gets key Stakeholders "on side", delivers results through others

  • Knowledge of IT Project Management and Project Lifecycle (certification preferred)
  • Professional with a proven track record and experience in using data proficiently
  • Experience of operating with outsourced and offshore service providers
  • Experience of working in an international and fast paced environment
