Finance Manager - Oil & Gas

Investigo are exclusively partnering an Oil & Gas Company in central Surrey to recruit a Finance lead in the team due to internal promotion.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting both the Financial Controller and CFO in both Financial control and FP&A. You must be a fully qualified accountant and previously worked in the Oil & Gas sector or similar.

Duties include:

• Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
• Leading the month end reporting process, including preparation of management accounts
• Preparation and posting of various journals as part of the month end close and reporting process, including payroll, intercompany, fixed assets, IFRS 16 leases, inventory, revenue and cost of sales
• Assisting the Financial Projects Manager in implementation of new processes in Vena
• Assisting FP&A Analyst and Cost Controllers in tracking costs against budgets and monitoring of cash flow forecasts and trends
• Preparation of the Group's full year and interim accounts, including notes to the accounts
• Preparation of subsidiary statutory accounts
• Managing and maintaining the Company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems; including the chart of accounts, the purchase order/invoice approval system and key reporting tools and spreadsheets
• Developing strong external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, financial systems technical support, tax advisers and statutory organisations such as HMRC
• Keeping abreast of changes in financial and other reporting requirements that may impact the Group's external announcements; and designing and implementing changes to systems and reports if required
• Accounting for the Group's share schemes under IFRS 2
• Research and preparation of technical accounting papers on key issues, including impairment, share-based payments and decommissioning for senior management and Board committees

Support Financial Controller and CFO in other matters that may arise, as required

Qualification and Skills

• Qualified Accountant ACA, CIMA or ACCA
• Experience in an Oil & Gas company or relevant sector
• Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
• High numeracy and sound technical skills
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to work with all levels
• Ability to influence and support non finance teams
• An analytical approach to work
• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise
• Problem-solving skills and initiative
• Strong commercial and business awareness
• Good IT skills, especially Excel
