Job description

Background

This businesses finance system has been in place for approximately 8 years, the core of which is made up of SAP BusinessOne (Core GL, Sub ledgers and custom invoicing), Wax Digital (Source-to-pay) and d/EPM (Financial reporting, incl. FP&A), all hosted with an external vendor.

Due to some components approaching end of life, they have now decided to transform the Finance technology estate and move to a modern end-to-end cloud SaaS solution. The focus of the transformation will be on moving to standard "out of the box" functionality, adopting not adapting the functionality, increasing security and resilience of the platform, reducing manual effort and increasing reporting capability. The target go-live date for this project is end of H1 2025.

The Finance team are currently in the final stages of selecting both the ERP vendor and an Implementation partner to assist with delivery of the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the development and integration of the new Finance systems, working closely with the BAU Finance team, the chosen implementation partner, the Project Manager and other internal stakeholders.
  • Providing appropriate challenge and support to the Financial Control, Financial Operations, Treasury, FP&A, Procurement and Third Party Management teams on business requirements, process design and efficiency improvements.
  • Providing Project Management skills and expertise to Finance, Change and IT teams to support the specification, scheduling, design and development of end requirements.
  • Development of future systems functionality and processes across the full Finance estate, including system implementation and process redesigns, from initiation to completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define detailed project scope, objectives and deliverables.
  • Conduct business process analysis to identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Assisting with the plans around testing, quality assurance activities and integration of change to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Support and assist the Finance BAU team with learning and understanding of the new systems processes and functionality so that on go-live transition is as seamless as possible.

Profile:

  • Proven experience in managing and assisting with Finance Transformation programs.
  • Demonstrable understanding of financial systems and processes and of working in core Finance functions.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to learn new systems and processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements within Finance and accounting more generally.
  • Preferred understanding of Finance ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
