The team operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, functioning as a proactive business partner and assisting the business leaders with their accounting and compliance responsibilities.

Your key responsibilities


As the UK Financial Controller you will be responsible for the financial control of the UK operation, accurate reporting, applying appropriate financial controls and adhoc analysis.

The role is based in Maidenhead and is responsible for delivering monthly management accounts, local statutory accounts, indirect tax filings and corporate tax filings.

  • Full ownership and accountability for the financial accounting and reporting.
  • Working with the tax team and external service providers to ensure that all external reporting and compliance is completed accurately and on time
  • Manage and coordinate efficient external audits - including ongoing Tax audits
  • Manage cash flow, working effectively with Treasury
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls are applied in the UK and Irish entities including approving payroll and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure monthly reporting and close processes are accurate, timely and compliant
  • Insightful analysis of performance within the management accounts
  • Perform and follow up on balance sheet reconciliations
  • Build and foster relationships with group finance, commercial finance, local directors and senior business leads
  • Proactively manage changes in the external environment relevant to the UK and Ireland
  • Providing technical assistance to junior members of the wider Controllership team


Experience/Key attributes

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • 5+ years experience in a finance function operating in a financial controller role
  • Understanding of corporation tax requirements and accounting
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
