Job description

My client, an international FMCG food manufacture, are looking for a newly qualified accountant to join the team. This is an exciting new position due to the growth of the business, who have continued to grow throughout the pandemic. Responsibilities:

Internal Audit

  • Work directly with the Group Senior Controls and Reporting Manager to develop the scope and timetable for the annual Internal Audit plan
  • Take full responsibility for the delivery of audit projects assigned including planning, fieldwork delivery and reporting
  • Play an active role in the continual improvement programme, driving change/ standardisation and process improvement across the Group
  • Follow-up on audit findings with the responsible process owners, monitor progress to ensure timely closing of the audit findings
  • Assist in Group risk assessment process
  • To conduct any reviews or investigations as required into matters of fraud or irregularity
  • Develop strong relationships with all key stakeholders

Group Finance

Assist the Group Finance in the following activities:

  • Provide assistance in year-end and half-year reporting process
  • Introduce efficiencies and automation to Group processes
  • Support Group Finance and local Finance functions with technical accounting guidance
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis
  • Maintain accurate and up to date financial information
  • Ensuring timely completion of planned internal audit assignments, in accordance with the timetable and scope agreed with the Audit Committee
  • Ensuring timely issue of clearly written and insightful audit reports following completion of audit fieldwork
  • Providing assistance in ensuring an effective and efficient Group risk assessment process
  • Ensuring effective support for the Group Finance (on planning & reporting activities)

Experience:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Accountancy qualification (ACA or equivalent)
  • Experience working at Top Ten Accountancy Practice
  • Experience of planning, conducting and managing audits
  • Experience in drafting reports/presentations for senior management

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong Excel skills

Knowledge:

  • Sound working knowledge of auditing procedures
  • Sound working knowledge of IFRS
