Our client a public sector organisation is looking for an experienced Head of Information Governance / Knowledge Information guru to join on a contract bases.
You will take responsibility for the implementation of relevant policy and procedures, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and standards specified by the National Archives and other bodies. To advise the Head of Digital, Data, Technology & Facilities on the development of robust information governance within the organisation and to take a leading role in the implementation of information related projects.
There is currently multiple FOI (freedom of information) out and needing support on the list of these. You will also come onboard to provide strategic direction for organisational information governance, data protection and records management to meet the organisations corporate and business objectives.
To provide the policy framework for the Commission's use of information systems to support its business objectives and to ensure that these efficiency in business processes and compliance with statutory requirements. Act as the Data Protection Officer for the Electoral Commission.
Key Responsibilities;
Develop and implement an Information Governance framework and related policies and procedures to support the Digital, Data and Technology Strategy and other business needs
Act as the statutory Data Protection Officer provide strategic advice and maintain the policies, processes, manage incidents and reporting required to meet the requirements of the UKGDPR and Data Protection Act 2018
Essential Requirements for the role:
- Certificate/qualification in records and information management or equivalent experience
- Certificate/qualification in data protection or equivalent experience
- Certificate/qualification in information security management or relevant experience
- Substantial experience of working in information and records management and providing strategic guidance
- Experience of managing information related change projects and providing advice to significant organisational system projects
- Experience of managing a team and take responsibility for developing people, systems and processes
- Strong knowledge of public records legislation and organisational publishing obligations
- Demonstrable knowledge of Knowledge of Freedom of Information/Data Protection legislation and implementation of compliance frameworks, policies, and processes
