Job description

Fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant or Assistant to join a growing team with real progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

* Prepare payment requests for treasury function approval on weekly/bi-monthly basis for

  1. Payment of construction costs
  2. Payment of structure costs

* Work with the Investment, Development and Construction teams to monitor approved budgets and ensure that purchase orders are managed on Qube.
* Monitor purchase orders on Qube ensuring approvals by relevant teams.
* Process invoices, allocate to purchase orders and confirm in line with budget.
* Reconcile actuals to budget on a monthly basis and liaise with budget holders to investigate variances.
* Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
* Post payments and reconcile supplier accounts.

Month-end/quarter-end accounts


* Prepare monthly management accounts & nominal ledger for entities in construction phase.
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts for quarterly reporting in line with reporting requirements.
* Post prepayments, accruals, depreciation, and intercompany transactions.
* Prepare and process payment request forms for construction cost and other structure cost payments.

Year End


* Prepare year-end accounts:

  1. Check GL accounts to make sure entries posted to the correct account.
  2. Prepare BS reconciliation and make sure evidence can be provided.
  3. Identify accounts that will be queried by the tax team and supply additional information regarding the payment and make copies of all relevant invoices.
  4. Prepare year-end audit file.
  5. Request board minutes.
  6. Supply management accounts and bank statement to date.

* Liaise with audit team during the audit

  1. Respond to audit/tax queries
  2. Supply audit team with audit file
  3. Updating financial statements and assisting with audit queries
  4. Assist with quarterly VAT reporting
  5. Assist with monthly CIS returns

Person Specification


* Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
* Organised and thorough, with excellent attention to detail.
* Good problem-solving capabilities.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Self Motivated with a proactive attitude.
* Personality to be suited to work within a small company and ability to work independently.
* Excellent IT skills, Sage Line 50, Word and Strong Excel Skills (VLOOKUP, Formulas, Pivot tables etc.)
* Ability to work as part of a small and busy team.
