Management Accountant

Leading Hospitality & Events Company
£50,000 - £60,000 + Great Benefits
Hybrid Working (3 days typically in the office)
Central London - Liverpool Street

As Management Accountant, you will be required to assist in the running of all aspects of the day to day Finance function. Your responsibility will include everything from monthly journals, management account preparation, VAT returns and assisting the external audit function.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Head of Finance and ensure smooth running of the Finance Department.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts pack for circulation to management together with month end journals, analysis and commentary.
  • Responsible for the company trial balance ensuring all accounts are reconciled to the ledgers.
  • Prepare intercompany recharges and ensuring all intercompany balances agreed and reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Provide hands-on support to Finance team for daily bookkeeping process on Sage 50 in a fast paced environment.
  • Overseeing the running of the Accounts Payables function. This includes ensuring all invoices are authorised appropriately, processed accurately, check all payments prepare by the finance team to ensure their validity, correctness and to limit the organisations exposure to risk as far as possible.
  • Review and completing quarterly VAT returns accurately and on time.
  • Assist the year end audit and liaise with the auditors.
  • Provide leadership, motivation and guidance to direct reports including performance management, recruitment and development.

Experience/skills required:

  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant, ideally in the property and trading or a related industry.
  • Sound knowledge of a recognised Accounting Software - Sage 50 or similar.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate personal drive and commitment to work.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
