St Katherine Docks (hybrid working 2 days per week)

Reporting to: Interim CEO

Salary: c. £86,000 per annum

Contract type: Permanent

Responsible for: Head of HR, Head of Resourcing and Head of Learning and Development

WHO ARE ST MUNGO'S

With a turnover of more than £100m, around 3,500 tenants, 1,500 staff and 1,000 volunteers, St Mungo's is the largest homelessness charity in the UK. Every year we support 33,000 clients in our wide range of services across London and the south of England. St Mungo's is a charity, and a registered provider of housing, and is regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing.

THE OPPORTUNITY

After working closely with St Mungo's last year as a charity partner and raising over £100,000 for the organisation, Investigo are delighted to be given the opportunity to exclusively partner the charity in their search for their new Director of People.

This role is imperative to the organisations growth, culture and continuous development over the coming years as you will play a main role in driving the people strategy alongside a variety of change and transformation objectives.

The successful applicant will be an experienced "number 1" within HR and whilst it is desirable to have a candidate that has worked in the not-for-profit arena, this is not essential. You will be a true leader that boasts excellent stakeholder engagement skills, as well as a track record of driving change and transformation within complex organisations.

THE PURPOSE

"I could use the usual job advert 'buzz' words and tell you this is a really exciting time to join St Mungo's as they embark on an exciting period of transformation and change, and you may well skip to the next vacancy…but hold on, I really mean it!

The organisation has just initiated a programme of transformation called 'Futures Programme' with 3 key work-streams and one of those is around People. So this really is a role where you can influence the future culture and ways of working across the organisation.

In the next 12 months there is the opportunity to review the systems used across the department with budget to upgrade or replace the candidate management system, the learning management system and the HR system…when have you ever had an opportunity like that before! You will be the 'on point' person for all HR matters and need to be comfortable to take this accountability. You will have an amazing HR team to support you. The team are a mix of long serving and new colleagues but they are all passionate about people and the Mungo's mission. If you want a challenging, yet rewarding role, where no two days are the same, then this really could be the role for you. - Kerry Crowther, Interim Director of People
